On the morning of October 18th, Hunan Xiangtou Jinting Technology Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for its high-performance titanium strip project in Changsha High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Attendees included Vice Minister Du Zhanyuan from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vice Governor Chen Zhaoxiong of Hunan Province, Academician Li Dongying of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Academician Huang Boyun of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Central South University, as well as leaders from relevant departments of Hunan Province and Changsha City.

Hunan Xiangtou Jinting Technology Group focuses on investment and holding operations in the metal new materials industry, implementing a "One Body, Two Wings" development strategy: "centering on the metal new materials industry, vertically integrating, horizontally expanding, forming an industrial cluster, and building two platforms for innovation in talent mechanisms and cooperation mechanisms." This aims to create a Chinese titanium industry corridor. In 2007, Xiangtou Jinting produced the first large-diameter, heavy-gauge, hot-rolled titanium strip coil in China, hailed by the media as a milestone for China's titanium industry and one of the nine most influential events in China's new materials field that year. This ended China's history of not being able to produce titanium strip coils and its long-term reliance on imports; in 2008, it produced the first large-diameter, heavy-gauge, cold-rolled titanium strip coil; and in 2009, it used its self-produced cold-rolled titanium strip coil to produce China's first titanium welded pipe with independent intellectual property rights, fully integrating the titanium strip coil process route. Xiangtou Jinting Titanium has created a number of technological achievements, including titanium strip coil rolling technology, equipment process requirements, product standards, and patented technologies, forming a complete proprietary intellectual property rights system. Xiangtou Jinting Titanium implements a titanium-steel joint strategy, integrating cross-industry and cross-enterprise resources, bringing together a group of experts from the titanium and steel industries, maintaining a leading technological position.

Based on its comprehensive mastery of titanium strip coil production technology and equipment parameters, Xiangtou Jinting Titanium implemented China's first wide titanium strip coil project—the high-performance titanium strip project. The project has a total investment of 1.45 billion yuan. Except for the main rolling mill, which was imported, other equipment was domestically researched and manufactured. It covers an area of 144,705 square meters and has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of cold-rolled titanium strip coils. The project is scheduled to be completed and put into production in 2011. Upon reaching full capacity, sales revenue is expected to reach 3.6 billion yuan, with a profit of 320 million yuan. The project will change China's reliance on imported titanium strip coils, providing important material support for China's aircraft, nuclear power, submarine, and marine engineering projects, and driving the upgrading and development of related industries. It will contribute to promoting the development of China's new materials industry, promoting the rise of central China, advancing Hunan Province's new industrialization process, and accelerating the construction of the Chang-Zhu-Tan "two-type society" pilot zone.

Further news: On the morning of October 18th, Hunan Xiangtou Jinting Technology Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Central South University to jointly build a titanium materials production, education, and research base; Hunan Xiangtou Jinting Titanium Metal Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with the National Engineering Research Center for High-Efficiency Rolling of Beijing University of Science and Technology and Hunan Valin Liyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. regarding the establishment of a titanium-steel joint high-efficiency rolling center.
