To comprehensively enhance the overall quality of the workforce in the Changsha High-tech Industrial Development Zone, promote the development of professional and technical personnel in the entire zone, and comprehensively test the skill levels and practical operational capabilities of various positions, the Changsha High-tech Zone Management Committee and the Changsha Municipal Federation of Trade Unions organized and held a worker skills competition for welders, assembly fitters, electronic assemblers, and maintenance electricians at the Changsha High-tech Vocational and Technical School on August 28th and 29th.

Company leadership attached great importance to this competition. With the support of the power department, comprehensive department, and strip mill, the company sent a total of four representatives to participate in three of the competitions (welding, assembly fitting, and maintenance electrician).

On August 28th, the competition officially kicked off. In the first stage of the theoretical examination, all four of the company's contestants passed and qualified for the practical competition the following day. The second day was the practical competition. The competition required the use of carbon dioxide shielded arc welding, 507 welding rods, and Mitsubishi PLC, which differed from the manual arc welding, hydrogen shielded arc welding, 3.20 welding rods, Siemens PLC, and ABB PLC that we usually use. Upon learning of this requirement, we did not give up, but instead learned by consulting relevant materials, familiarized ourselves with the competition site before the competition (Engineer Huang from the power department personally guided the contestants during this process), and made efforts to make up for the existing deficiencies.

Although we lost a lot of points in the practical competition and did not achieve a good ranking, the process of actively participating in the competition and the team spirit of the company's departments are worth learning from all Titanium people—just like the titanium industry we are engaged in, even if we have not been in contact with it before, we can achieve success through learning, collaboration, and repeated experiments.
